'The Gospel - Light in the Darkness' is a mesmerizing snare inspired by the Heavenly beauty of stained glass. The metal flake cross immersed in an explosion of light is meticulously oriented to resemble a mosaic of stained glass. These bold and brilliant flake colors penetrate through the surrounding background of black sparkle flake, creating the shower of light in the darkness. Playing drums is certainly not static, and neither is the reflection of lights produced by this beautiful design.

'The Gospel' is created on our signature Birch Brownie Classic snare drum and is the ideal choice for live performances. With an all birch shell and birch reinforcing rings, this snare will not get lost in the mix on the live stage.

Metal Flake

Our exclusive metal flake finishes created at Brownie Drum Company are absolutely like no other. This proprietary process of combining real metal flake with epoxy resin produces a result with incredible luster and superior durability. These dazzling finishes dance and flow as if they are alive! We use an industry standard 2-part coating resin that is extremely durable and crystal clear. The resin cures with a strength that makes our metal flake finishes the most durable and impact resistant drum finish on the market. All of the great Brownie tonal qualities are preserved due to the resin's elasticity and elongation properties. Our metal flake finishes breath and flex with each hit of the drum, and will never crack and become brittle over time. Brownie metal flake finishes are 'forever finishes.'

Developed over a 5 year process and using metal flake sourced from North Dakota, we were able to encapsulate flake with epoxy resin to create a fabulously dynamic drum finish. Each flake color choice or combination of colors have a 'retro' feel that are both captivating and elegant. 

Our metal flake finishes are unlike any drum finish you will ever witness. 


Wood Dye

natural wood dye drum finishLiquid and powder aniline wood dye concentrates are used to create just about any wood color imaginable. Whether light browns and olive greens to bolder dark walnut and ebony, each dye color ultimately delivers a classy and timeless finished product. Unlike common wood stains, these metallized acid dyes penetrate deep into the wood fibers and cells; revealing all of the wood's natural characteristics, grain pattern and dimensions. Our wood dye finishes are clear-coated with high gloss polyurethane until a perfectly smooth and incredibly reflective finish is achieved. Although polyurethane is not as scratch and impact resistant when compared to epoxy, polyurethane is a very durable and long lasting protective finish for drum shells.

Oil & Wax

Brownie Drum Natural finish wood types oil wax high gloss poly

Let the natural beauty of your premium wood shells shine with our oil and wax finish. We use several penetrating oils, such as orange oil and tung oil, to absorb deep within the wood's grain. Beeswax and carnauba waxes are then buffed onto the surface to shield the wood from the elements. This process conditions and protects the shells from drying out, deteriorating and mold/mildew prevention. Our oil and wax finishes have a rustic and natural matte to satin appearance, and is a wonderful choice for those wanting an organic and classic look.
