Indeed! Danny Carey of Tool enjoys a Brownie custom snare drum. Designed and crafted in 2019 by Cameron Brown for the 'Fear Inoculum' tour, this incredible snare drum was specially built for one of the greatest progressive drummers of all time.
The shell is 100% American birch with thick birch reinforcing rings - a unique shell material in Danny's collection.
The surface was finished with ebony wood dye and high gloss polyurethane. The two interlocking squares, creating an eight-pointed star, was taken from the 'Fear Inoculum' album artwork and was created with light gold metal flake.
Danny's favorite Sonor Phonics lugs were used, in addition to a Dunnett R-Class Throw Off and Evans Power Center Reverse Dot and Hazy300 heads.
